Basketball Game Preview: Silverdale Academy Seahawks vs. Franklin Road Academy Panthers

The Silverdale Academy Seahawks will venture away from home to take on the Franklin Road Academy Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Tuesday, everything went Silverdale Academy's way against Walker Valley as Silverdale Academy made off with a 62-40 victory. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Silverdale Academy found their leader in sophomore Kinsley Owen, who dropped a triple-double on 31 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. The matchup was Owen's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braylee Raby, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Franklin Road Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past St. Cecilia Academy, posting a 53-15 win.

Silverdale Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Franklin Road Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Silverdale Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin Road Academy in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 69-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silverdale Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
