The Picayune Maroon Tide entered their tilt with the Hancock Hawks with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Picayune took their match at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 49-21 win over Hancock. Considering Picayune has won five contests by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Picayune had a senior duo take command as Niquis Ratcliff rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries and Chris Davis rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Darrell Smith, who picked up 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Picayune's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Hancock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Picayune will look to defend their home field on November 10th against Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. Forest Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Picayune is ranked seventh). As for Hancock, they will head out on the road to face off against West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. West Jones will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
