Richardson is 10-0 against the Mustangs since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Richardson entered their tilt with the Rams with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Richardson came out on top against the Rams by a score of 54-41. Given Richardson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Rams are ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richardson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Aldridge led the charge by scoring 19 points along with four steals. Aldridge hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciera Hanks, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Pearce came up short against the Wildcats on Tuesday and fell 56-43. Pearce has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Richardson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season. As for Pearce, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-14.
Everything came up roses for Richardson against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 59-30 victory. Will Richardson repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
