The Hooper Academy Colts will head out on the road to challenge the Fort Dale Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to a 26-point victory in their last game, Hooper Academy came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Edgewood Academy by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Hooper Academy has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Fort Dale Academy came up short against Bessemer Academy on Friday and fell 58-50. While losing is never fun, Fort Dale Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Bessemer Academy is ranked 73rd).
Hooper Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Fort Dale Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Hooper Academy came up short against Fort Dale Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 62-57. Can Hooper Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
