There's no place like home for the Simmons Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-14 victory over West Bolivar at home. That 42 points margin sets a new team best for Simmons this season.
Simmons was led to victory by Aaliyah Esco and Akiah Prince. Esco dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Prince dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Prince has scored at least a third of Simmons' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashuntie Lundy, who scored four points.
Simmons is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for West Bolivar, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simmons will face off against Leland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Leland is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
