Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevens Point). They breezed by the Wausau West Warriors to the tune of 74-40 on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Warriors are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wausau West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayla Christensen, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Paige Anderson, who earned nine points.

The win (which was Stevens Point's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Wausau West, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Stevens Point has already played their next matchup, an 85-32 victory against Chippewa Falls on the 17th. As for Wausau West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-23 loss against Lakeland on the 17th.
