Mountain Lakes extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Jersey - Independence this week by beating Boonton, 42-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Lakers.
North Warren Regional's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Wilbur threw for 109 and one touchdown and Jon Davalos had 67 yards receiving. On the ground Davalos chipped in 155 yards. Trent Simmons helped North Warren Regional's passing attack out by catching two balls for 42 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Chris Heredia of Butler is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1652. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, the Patriots' Davalos has rushed for 731 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Falkman. The Whippany Park star has 27 catches for 380 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Hopatcong. Butler is currently in second, while the Chiefs are in fifth.
Kinnelon made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,445 from 7,734. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-12 victory over Pequannock last week.
