The York Cougars will take on the Dreher Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. York will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
York's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Northwestern 10-0. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Peyton Brooks made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Marisa Reyes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Natalie Dover was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Dreher fell victim to York and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Rory McCormack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Dreher has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for York, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. York has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dreher struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went York's way against Dreher in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as York made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
