This season hasn't been kind to the Westwood Wildcats, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairhill on Thursday. Westwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fairhill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Westwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cyrus Terry, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Evan Ludeman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 14 rebounds and four steals.
Westwood's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Fairhill, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Coincidentally, Westwood and Fairhill will both be playing Providence Academy the next time they take the court. Fairhill will head out to face Providence Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 26, 2024, while Westwood will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on February 9, 2024.
