The biggest upset of the week belonged to Woodlake, who took down 703rd ranked Woodlake, 31-8. Alex Jara threw for 126 yards and one touchdown in the win.
Lindsay extended the longest winning streak in East Sequoia this week by beating the Tigers, 31-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Cardinals.
Fernando Rodriguez was the best wideout in the league this week as Granite Hills beat Sierra Pacific. Rodriguez tallied three receptions for 78 yards. Josh Gonzales helped Granite Hills' passing attack out by catching three balls for 29 yards.
Kaleb Toone was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 155 yards on six carries as Corcoran topped the Golden Bears. Paul Johnson also contributed to the rushing game with 121 yards on the ground.
Dillon Fugate made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers bested Strathmore. The 5-foot-9 sophomore grabbed one interception.
Fernando Gonzalez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Granite Hills defeated Sierra Pacific. He completed seven passes for 130 yards and also ran for 102 yards.
David Coldiron's team's Gonzalez and Rodriguez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading East Sequoia in both passing and receiving yards. Gonzalez has thrown for 769 yards this season, while Rodriguez has 24 catches for 292 yards. The Spartans' Cody Styles leads the league in rushing yards with 1280.
Corcoran's Toone is a mere 83 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Toone has rushed for 917 yards on 113 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Rich Lane's team takes on Jesse Lira's team. The Panthers are currently in fourth, while the Cardinals are in second.
Lindsay moved up to 733 from 764 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cardinals were able to make move up by defeating Woodlake 31-8.
