The Pearl River Central Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Pascagoula Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pearl River Central took a 35-point defeat the last time they faced off against Gautier, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Gators 17-14.

A big part of Pearl River Central's victory came down to the chemistry between Titus Feaster and his top target Kendall Morrison. Feaster rushed for 79 yards and one TD while Morrison picked up 131 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards Morrison has posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, Pascagoula had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Long Beach 47-14.
Pearl River Central better keep an eye on Sean Norvel. He was instrumental in Pascagoula's win, rushing for 110 yards and 12 scores on only 15 carries. Amarie Jackson helped out on the ground, rushing for 164 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Pascagoula was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Pascagoula didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jermareay Pickett and Tylan Wilson. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last six games he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Pearl River Central's record is now 5-2. As for Pascagoula, their record now sits at 2-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Pearl River Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pascagoula struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Pearl River Central was taken down by Pascagoula 37-8 in their previous meeting back in September of 2020. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
