The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 70-57 victory over Park Tudor. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Haywood led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Haywood is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reis Butcher, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Park Tudor, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Park Tudor, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Panthers are ranked 49th).
