Despite the loss, Amplus Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Salematou Kaba dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kaba also set a new season-high mark in steals with six. Naia Youngblood also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Jasmine Rodriquez was the offensive standout of the match as she posted ten points and five steals. Eldorado is 2-1 when Rodriquez posts five or more steals, but 2-5 otherwise. Sara Torrico was another key player, putting up eight points.
Amplus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Eldorado, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.
Amplus Academy will head out on the road to square off against Bonanza at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bonanza has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Eldorado has already played their next contest (against Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
