The Prosser Mustangs will face off against the Orting Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Orting will be up against a hot Prosser squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat North Mason 42-14. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mustangs just coasted through the last quarter.
Prosser found their leader in sophomore Autry Hoefer, who rushed for 176 yards and four scores while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Hoefer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Maldonaldo, who rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Orting never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past East Valley 56-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Knights are ranked 153rd).
Orting's win came from a few key players Prosser will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson McCall, who rushed for 132 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, and also caught one score. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Israel Shrode also helped out as he racked up 104 rushing yards.
Orting was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
