Softball Recap: Glenn's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Glenn came into Thursday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Fordson Tractors 20-4 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Summer Ramsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Gentry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Niveah Leleniewski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Glenn's win bumped their record up to 10-18. As for Fordson, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenn will venture away from home to challenge Melvindale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fordson, they will head out to square off against Southfield Arts & Tech at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
