Basha is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Heritage is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bears will welcome the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Basha is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Basha's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Riverdale Ridge with a sharp 8-0 win.
Parker Biltimier looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Basha is 3-1-1 when Biltimier allows two or fewer hits, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mason Cantu was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Basha's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-4-1 when he doesn't). Alex Garrido was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Basha always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Quartz Hill on Wednesday and fell 5-4. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.
Carson Davies was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliott Milstead, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Heritage fell to 5-1-1. As for Basha, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Basha has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
