The Chisholm Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Jones Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chisholm will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Jones is ranked 24th).
Last Friday, Chisholm was beaten by Oklahoma Christian 48-18. It was the first time this season that Chisholm let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Jones came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bethel 63-7 on the road. Considering Jones has won six games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Clayton Creasey was a one-man wrecking crew for Jones as he rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Creasey's longest rush was for an incredible 93 yards. Braydon Scott was in the mix as well, providing Jones with two touchdowns.
Oklahoma Christian's victory bumped their season record to 9-1 while Chisholm's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
Chisholm was taken down by Jones 41-8 when the teams last played back in November of 2020. Can Chisholm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
