Tracy-Milroy-Balaton had to start their season on the road  on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Windom Eagles by a score of  5-4. The Panthers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
 Trevor Smith put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. That's the first time  he hasn't allowed a single  hit since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.
 Smith wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Connor Lanoue, who  went 1-for-4 with one  RBI. Another  was  Griffin Zick, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
The  victory (which was Windom's sixth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will host Heron Lake-Okabena  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Windom, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. James  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
