The Evansville Reitz Panthers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 52-49 to Princeton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Evansville Reitz has not had much luck with Princeton recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Evansville Reitz lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Norah Miller, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Miller scored a full 32.7% of Evansville Reitz's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kaelyse Mitchell, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Princeton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ailie Taylor out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Smith, who scored 13 points.
Evansville Reitz's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Princeton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Evansville Reitz will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Jeffersonville at 2:00 p.m. Princeton is on the road again on Thursday and play against Wood Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th.
