The Lake Havasu Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 33-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Green Valley. While losing is never fun, Lake Havasu can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 247th in Arizona, while Green Valley is ranked 80th in Nevada).
Among those leading the charge was Gianessa Vazquez, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tabitha Bwakamba, who scored a points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Lake Havasu has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Green Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Lake Havasu will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Millennium at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Green Valley will finish 2023 at home by hosting Godinez Fundamental at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Godinez Fundamental focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
