After two games on the road, Meadowbrook Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Cedar Key Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Key took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Meadowbrook Academy, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Meadowbrook Academy beat Aucilla Christian 43-38.
Meadowbrook Academy found their leader in underclassman Gaige Daugherty, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daugherty has scored all season. Orion Grayer was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven blocks and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cedar Key, who are still winless after their tenth game. Their tough 63-42 defeat to Saint Francis Catholic on Friday might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Cedar Key has suffered since November 27, 2023.
Meadowbrook Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Cedar Key, they bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Meadowbrook Academy came up short against Cedar Key in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 51-38. Can Meadowbrook Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
