It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hoxie Indians can now relate to. They fell just short of Ell-Saline by a score of 44-42. Hoxie's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Duncan Bell, who threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.9% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Mader, who gained 146 total yards and two touchdowns.
Hoxie's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Ell-Saline, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Hoxie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ell-Saline is on the road again on Friday and play against Wichita County at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Wichita County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Ell-Saline likes a good challenge.
