Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia). They breezed by the East Alton-Wood River Oilers to the tune of 92-14 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 64-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah James, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave James a new career-high. Eddie Smajic was another key player, putting up 15 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Columbia and bumps their season record up to 13-4. As for East Alton-Wood River, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Columbia and Cahokia will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: C'Narri Griffin and Sam Donald. As for East Alton-Wood River, they will challenge Lebanon at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
