There's no place like home for Lincoln Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past the Hastings Tigers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-25. Considering the Falcons' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sammy Jurgens, who threw for 223 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave Jurgens a new career-high in passer rating (142.9). Kaiden Wood helped Jurgens out on the ground, rushing for 184 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Lincoln Northwest didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hastings to a completion percentage of just 31.8%. Given Jurgens' standout performance, it's clear the Tigers' secondary just wasn't on the same level.
Lincoln Northwest's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cooper Floyd, Bryson Rumbaugh, and Jacob Van Ornum, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Although Hastings took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxon Brooks, Brody Dreher, and Xander Redding.
Lincoln Northwest's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Lincoln Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 28-17 loss against Seward on the 26th. As for Hastings, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 win against Beatrice on the 26th.
