After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frontenac, St. Mary's-Colgan was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Baxter Springs Lions 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

St. Mary's-Colgan pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Baxter Springs, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Mary's-Colgan beat the Lions by a score of 10-0 later that day.
