In what's become a running theme this season, the Pope County Pirates gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They breezed by Galatia/Thompsonville on the road to the tune of 60-18. The victory was familiar territory for Pope County who now have 12 in a row.
Shelby Hogg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. Ahry Comer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Pope County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 29-2 record this season. As for Galatia/Thompsonville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Pope County will take on Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pope County is coming into the game with six straight victories on the road, so Meridian is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Galatia/Thompsonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
