Cincinnati Hills recap Oct. 16, 2012
Madeira extended the longest winning streak in Cincinnati Hills this week by beating Deer Park, 56-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Wyoming moved up to 271 from 305 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cowboys climbed the ranks as a result of beating Mariemont 37-22.
Finneytown's dynamic duo of Bradley Steimle and Manny Martin proved tough for Indian Hill to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Steimle threw for 149 yards and one touchdown and Martin had 94 yards receiving. Jason Davis helped Finneytown's passing attack out by catching two balls for 57 yards.
Mikel Sims made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wildcats lost to the Braves. The 6-foot-2 junior grabbed one interception and racked up one sack.
Austin Fitzhugh was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 26 yards on 11 carries as Reading fell to Indian Hill. Jacob Blair also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Wyoming's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cowboys feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Will Marty has thrown for 1766 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Ben Kurtz has 47 catches for 813 yards. Terrell Dailey leads the league in rushing with 666 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Madeira takes on Taylor. The Mustangs are in first place, while the Yellowjackets are in fourth place.
Madeira took down the Wildcats 56-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
