Philipsburg-Osceola has gone 8-2 against Clearfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Mountaineers will be playing at home against the Bison at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Philipsburg-Osceola has six straight wins, Clearfield has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Philipsburg-Osceola is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Bishop Carroll a 19-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Mountaineers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zach Yoder was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.
