Anderson is 2-7 against Pendleton Heights since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Arabians at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Anderson had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Liberty Christian on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 20-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Cole Roberts and Hunter Anderson made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Roberts struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Anderson pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Roberts scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Anderson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI. Roberts also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Kadyn Kendall and KeAvon Burt did most of the damage at the plate: Kendall went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Burt scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Burt continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nehemiah Burns also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pendleton Heights strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Frankton with a sharp 15-4 win. Considering the Arabians have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Colton Frank was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Ty Frakes was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Jackson Grile was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
The victory got Anderson back to even at 2-2. As for Pendleton Heights, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Anderson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Pendleton Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Anderson might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Pendleton Heights in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
