Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The South Hunterdon Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 20-0 defeat at the hands of Glassboro on Friday. South Hunterdon's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Glassboro was led to victory by Amari Sabb and Dominic Barr. Sabb rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while Barr rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
South Hunterdon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Glassboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
South Hunterdon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Glassboro will head out on the road to face off against Schalick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Schalick is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Glassboro a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
