Softball Recap: Warren Woods-Tower Wins Going Away Against New Haven

Warren Woods-Tower won against Berkley on Saturday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Titans blew past the New Haven Rockets 13-2. Considering the Titans have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aislinn Lipar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Lipar was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Warren Woods-Tower got a massive performance out of Atiana Guzman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Guzman has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackie Asmar, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Warren Woods-Tower was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Haven only posted a batting average of .250.

Warren Woods-Tower now has a winning record of 6-5. As for New Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Warren Woods-Tower will be playing in front of their home fans against Detroit Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for New Haven, they will head out on the road to square off against Grosse Pointe South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
