The Mahwah Thunderbirds pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of River Dell. Mahwah has not had much luck with River Dell recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Sean Golden was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for River Dell. Golden is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Liam Hickey was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Mahwah's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for River Dell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Mahwah will be playing at home against Ferris at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for River Dell, they will take on Dwight Morrow at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Hopefully River Dell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
