Basketball Recap: Federal Hocking's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Federal Hocking unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to the Harvest Prep Warriors 67-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lancers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Warriors are ranked 374th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harvest Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Janay Carter, who posted 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Israelle Smith, who earned 19 points.

Federal Hocking's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Harvest Prep, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Federal Hocking will host Minford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Federal Hocking knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Minford likes a good challenge. As for Harvest Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Watterson at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
