Niles Notre Dame entered their tilt with Wheaton Academy on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 victory over the Wheaton Academy Warriors. The win was all the more spectacular given the Dons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Warriors are ranked 83rd).

Niles Notre Dame's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Wheaton Academy, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.

Niles Notre Dame will head out to challenge Saint Viator at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niles Notre Dame knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Saint Viator likes a good challenge. As for Wheaton Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
