The Wisconsin School for the Deaf Firebirds couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-23 walloping at the hands of Rock County Christian on Thursday. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Leading Rock County Christian to victory were Macen Osland and Derek Quinn. Osland scored 7 points along with 4 steals, while Quinn scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Osland hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Thompson, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rock County Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf will square off against Kansas School for the Deaf at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rock County Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy of Excellence at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
