The Toronto Red Knights lost against the East Palestine Bulldogs back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Toronto fell just short of East Palestine by a score of 48-45. Toronto has not had much luck with East Palestine recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Toronto lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashton Thomas. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Callie Anderson, who scored 4 points along with 14 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Palestine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leila Martin, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds. Jasmine Ludt was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Toronto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for East Palestine, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Toronto will take on Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
