Miller Career Academy on the road again on Thursday and play against KIPP on January 25th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Miller Career Academy posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They breezed by Confluence Prep Academy/Grand Center Arts Academy on the road to the tune of 62-23. That's two games straight that Miller Career Academy has won by exactly 39 points.
Meanwhile, KIPP strolled past Hancock with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 43-24. Given KIPP's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Hancock is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jameka Garrett was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of KIPP's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalil Oliver, who scored three points along with 14 rebounds.
Miller Career Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-12 record this season. As for KIPP, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
