Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Bear River). They were the clear victors by  an  18-1 margin over the Mira Loma Matadors on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bruins considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.
 Taryn Cleek made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  a single  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Adalaide Mason and  Macy Martin did most of the damage at the plate:  Mason  scored four  runs while going 4-for-4, while  Martin  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with four  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  Mason a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lily Fiddyment, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 Bear River  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Bear River is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mira Loma, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the  loss, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Bear River and Mira Loma will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  games. The next time the Bruins see the field they'll take on Marysville  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. As for Mira Loma, their break will end when they face Oakmont  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 24th.
