The Durand Bulldogs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Harvard Hornets at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Durand has three straight victories, Harvard has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Durand has not done well against North Boone recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Durand came out on top against North Boone by a score of 55-46.
Durand's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathan Folk, who scored 24 points along with four steals. The contest was Folk's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Rager was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Harvard had to suffer through a rough 59-26 loss at the hands of Crystal Lake Central.
Durand's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Harvard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Durand was able to grind out a solid win over Harvard when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 47-36. Does Durand have another victory up their sleeve, or will Harvard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
