Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Bethlehem Catholic's offense. They lost 11-0 to Liberty on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Nazareth Area pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bethlehem Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Bethlehem Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nazareth Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. It's a different story for Bethlehem Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .232. Will they be able to contain Nazareth Area's hitters?
