They took down Salesian 71-53. Given Fordham Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Salesian is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fordham Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Gregory, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Fordham Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Salesian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fordham Prep will take on St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Salesian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Edmund Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Edmund Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
