Archbishop Stepinac is 9-1 against the Crusaders since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders will be playing at home against the Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Archbishop Stepinac's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 20 contests.
In what's become a running theme this season, Archbishop Stepinac gave their fans yet another huge victory on Sunday. They blew past Bishop Loughlin 87-61. Given Archbishop Stepinac's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Lions are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Boogie Fland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jasiah Jervis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Scanlan had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Cardinal Hayes by a score of 74-67 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Archbishop Stepinac pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for Monsignor Scanlan, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
Archbishop Stepinac strolled past the Crusaders in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 74-57. Does Archbishop Stepinac have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
