Even though the Harlan Hawks scored an imposing 77 points on Friday, the Jay Mustangs still came out on top. Jay strolled past Harlan with points to spare, taking the game 91-77. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jay.
Jay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Baldwin out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Baldwin's third in a row with at least ten points. Camrin Garza was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Jay's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.7 points per game. As for Harlan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will take on Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taft has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Harlan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Judson at 7:30 p.m. Judson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
