The Prairie View Thunderhawks are taking a road trip to  take on the Chaparral Wolverines  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Prairie View is coming into the  game hot, having won their last 15 games.
Prairie View's pitching crew heads into the  match  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They came out on top against Brighton by a score of  5-0.
 Favi Gaeta was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run.

 In other batting news,  Giovanni Tarin was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  RBI. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's  played.
 Prairie View  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters  in four consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile, Chaparral got the win against Eaglecrest  on Saturday by a conclusive  13-1. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won seven games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Like Prairie View, Chaparral also got a great game from a two-way player:  Carson Munroe. He  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Those  seven  strikeouts gave  Munroe a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ryne Dodson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Chaparral is undefeated when  Dodson posts two or  more  runs, but 8-9 otherwise.  Logan Manuello was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Prairie View's victory was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 19-3. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Chaparral, their record now sits at 13-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie View has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.8  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 6.9  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Prairie View beat Chaparral 5-2  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Will the Thunderhawks repeat their success,  or do  the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
