Crowley hasn't had much luck against Mansfield Legacy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will square off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Crowley has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Crowley is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Mansfield, falling 16-0.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Legacy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.
Natalie Moreaux was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ryleigh Stinson was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Hope Gaudio was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Mansfield Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matchups.
Mansfield Legacy pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crowley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crowley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Mansfield Legacy struggles in that department as they've averaged .397. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crowley might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Mansfield Legacy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
