The Laney Buccaneers are taking a road trip to take on the Corinth Holders Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Laney is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Topsail just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Pirates.
Laney took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-22.

Laney's record now sits at 9-12. As for Corinth Holders, their record is now 14-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Laney hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 6.2 blocks per game. It's a different story for Corinth Holders, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 blocks. Given Laney's sizable advantage in that area, the Pirates will need to find a way to close that gap.
Laney was able to grind out a solid victory over Corinth Holders in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
