After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warwick, Hempfield was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado 10-1. The Black Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.
Rose Wendel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kali Peifer was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Kiara Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Hempfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.P. McCaskey struck out eight times.
Hempfield now has a winning record of 6-5. As for J.P. McCaskey, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
