St. Michael has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  take on the St. Thomas More Cougars at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 St. Michael had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Livingston Collegiate Academy at home  to the tune of  49-14. St. Michael pushed the score to  42-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Livingston Collegiate Academy had  no chance of recovering from.
  Preston Sentino was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 239 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries.  John Martinez also helped out as he racked up 155 rushing yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Michael's defense and their three sacks. In that department,  Gavin Knapps was the leader with two sacks.
 Meanwhile, St. Thomas More put another one in the bag  on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Istrouma 57-14 at home. Given St. Thomas More's advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings  (they are ranked first, while Istrouma is ranked 120th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 St. Michael's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for St. Thomas More, their win was  their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 11-0.
 St. Michael was dealt a bruising  48-9 loss at the hands of St. Thomas More in their previous matchup  back in November of 2017. Thankfully for St. Michael,  Chris Primeaux (who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
