After losing to Jordan the last time they met, Alta decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Beetdiggers on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Hawks' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Alta's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nash Williams, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in March.
Alta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.
Alta is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
As of now, neither Alta nor the Beetdiggers have any future games scheduled.
