The Douglass Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the KIPP Collegiate phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Douglass, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to the Bears. Douglass has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, KIPP Collegiate's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Memphis Business Academy, falling 64-8. While losing is never fun, KIPP Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Execs are ranked 123rd).
Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for KIPP Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Everything came up roses for Douglass against the phoenix when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 61-19 win. Does Douglass have another victory up their sleeve, or will the phoenix turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
